About "Amulet Embroidery" with a connection to Nara <Part 2>

Hello everyone.

This time I will be writing about the ``super thin belly warmer'' from Nara lifestyle brand ``Nara Maki.''

Naramaki - A very thin belly warmer

Following on from the first part of our previous article about "amulet embroidery" that has a connection to Nara, in the second part we will introduce the remaining four embroidery techniques.

……………………

First, let's start with the embroidery of " persimmon leaf sushi. "

Naramaki Persimmon Leaf Sushi

When asked, "What is the local and traditional cuisine of Nara?" the first thing that comes up is persimmon leaf sushi .
In the days before today's logistics networks and refrigeration facilities, seafood and salt were extremely valuable to people living in mountain villages far from the sea.
Yes, Nara is a landlocked prefecture.
This precious salted mackerel was served with rice balls, wrapped in persimmon leaves from the mountain behind the temple, and weighted down to make persimmon leaf sushi. It was a summer festival delicacy that was an indispensable event food at community gatherings and on the family dinner table.

Even now, everyone in Nara Prefecture loves it. ( I think )

At the exhibition we are participating in this time,
Customers who love Nara and visited the booth were excited about the persimmon leaf sushi. ( Happy... )

The embroidery pattern is the classic "mackerel" and "salmon",
At the various persimmon leaf sushi specialty shops, you can find sea bream, conger eel, octopus, halfbeak, shrimp, and more, so you might be able to find your favorite♪

…………………

Next up is the "Shosoin Lapis Lazuli Bowl."

Naramaki Shosoin Lapis Lazuli Bowl

There was a Shosoin exhibition the other day, and this lapis lazuli bowl is also a treasure from the Shosoin.

It is decorated with 22 glass rings and is a treasure brought from the Sassanid Empire of Persia ( Iraq ) . The glass ring patterns are said to be one of the major characteristics of Persian Sassanid glass art of the time.

Glasswork is the treasure in Nara's Shosoin Treasure that best reflects the cultural styles of other countries.

Apparently, this lapis lazuli bowl is the second oldest of the six glass vessels in the collection!

The beautiful blue color is also expressed in Naramaki.
I think this pattern is easy for men to use as well.

…………………

The third is the " Tang Dynasty Envoy Ship. "

Naramaki: Japanese envoy ship to the Tang Dynasty

Long ago, from the Nara period through the Heian period, envoys were sent to the Tang Dynasty to adopt its advanced culture and systems.

Today, the ship has been restored and is on display at the Suzakumon Square in the Heijo Palace Ruins Historical Park in Nara Prefecture.

Here is the photo.

They are so wonderful together.

Many of our staff are fans of this design, and many are enthralled by the intricacy of the embroidery and the contrast between the red and light blue.

Naramaki is also available at the souvenir shop "Mitsukikan" in the Heijo Palace Ruins Historical Park, so please stop by if you're interested.

…………………

The final pattern is an embroidered golden eagle .

Naramaki Golden Kite

Many people may be wondering, "Nara?"

This embroidery is the symbol of Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture, where our company, Tatsumi Textile Industry, is located.

This is the golden kite, the golden hawk .

As mentioned in the announcement, this pattern is the first industrial product to be certified as a Kashihara brand product, and this has led to many people using it.

If I start explaining about the Golden Kite, the story will become even longer, so I would be happy to introduce it on a separate page at a later date.

……………………

This concludes my explanation of all 7 different embroidered patterns on the super thin belly warmers.
Thank you for reading to the end, even though this explanation was quite lengthy.

Each product is made with love and passion.
We hope you will choose your favorite Nara embroidery and select it as an item to warm your tummy.

Until the end Thank you for reading.
