2024年の敬老の日は9月16日(月)

Respect for the Aged Day in 2024 will be on Monday, September 16th.

It's been a while since I've posted anything interesting.

This time, we covered next month's Respect for the Aged Day.

■ Respect for the Aged Day originated in Japan

Respect for the Aged Day is celebrated on the third Monday of September every year. This year it will be September 16 , 2024 .

In 2003 , Respect for the Aged Day was changed to the third Monday of September and was established as a day to respect and celebrate the longevity of elderly people who have contributed to society for many years.

While Mother's Day and Father's Day originated abroad, Respect for the Aged Day is a national holiday that originated in Japan.

■How about trying the "Super Thin Belly Warmer Genbu" to celebrate "Respect for the Aged Day"?

Some people may want to give gifts or presents to celebrate.

At this time every year, the most popular item is the "NARAMAKI Super Thin Belly Warmer" with the embroidered "Genbu" pattern from the Kitora Tomb mural series.

■ [God of longevity and health] Genbu, one of the four sacred beasts

Genbu is a turtle with a snake entwined around it. In ancient China, turtles were symbols of "longevity and immortality" and snakes were symbols of "reproduction and fertility," so Genbu is a water god who is said to bring various benefits such as eternal youth and longevity and prosperity of descendants. Of the four gods, Genbu is a sacred black turtle that protects the north. It is said that Genbu is the most worshiped of the four gods, and this would make an easy-to-use embroidery pattern for both men and women.

As you can see from the image above, the embroidery pattern has a completely different feel between the white and black fabrics.

Please check the type you like and use it as a small gift for Respect for the Aged Day.
